EMSI has its roots in Air to Air and Ground to Air Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) imaging of aircraft.
Projects

ISAR Feature Aided Tracking
When tracking ground targets from the air, purely kinematic trackers are susceptible to errors in moderate traffic and also in areas with building and terrain shadows.

Radar Mode Design / System Engineering
EMSI was awarded a Rapid Innovation Fund contract in October 2013 to develop a 3rd party Maritime Search / MTI and Short-Dwell ISAR mode for the Dismount Detection Radar (DDR).

3D Maritime ISAR
A basic difficulty in processing SAR imagery of ships at sea is that oftentimes the ship motion is great enough within a radar dwell to cause not only blurring of the image but distortion as well.

Maritime and Terrestrial Combatant Target ID
EMSI is having great success classifying maritime and terrestrial combatants from SAR imagery.

Deep Learning
EMSI is having great success classifying maritime and terrestrial combatants from SAR imagery.

Airborne Combat ID
Airborne Combat ID brings with it a special set of constraints. On-board systems have limited processing capability and have an enormous demands put upon them.

Third Party Radar Mode Design
There is a desire in the Air Force and other services to broaden the capability of existing radar systems by establishing an Open System Architecture.
